The nearest village with facilities, approx 7 kilometres (Taran) offers good services, for example tavern/post office/restaurant/shops/pharmacy/doctor. Within a short drive you easily reach the towns of Madan, Ustovo and the spa centre – Banite. Locally we have the ski centre – Pamporovo – which has 25 km excellent ski-runs and 38 km cross-country skiing tracks served by 18 lifts.

A new golf course is proposed in the Perelik area (near Pamporovo) designed by golfer Ian Woosnam. Set at the very foot of the Rhodopi Mountains the golf course is probably going to be one of the best in the country for quality and facilities.

There are further wide leisure facilities within the area – fishing, swimming, hunting, white-water rafting, horse riding. Alongside of these there are many heritage sites, museums and beautiful countryside walks.

The Greek border is approximately 45 minutes away and from there a short drive takes you to the White Sea. The nearest airports are Plovdiv about 120 km and Sofia 280 km. However when the new Bulgarian/Greek checkpoint opens (2009) access will be easier from Greece.
